National and international projects are included in our Justice Ministry. We begin by creating a just and welcoming church and by partnering with communities impacted by injustice on local, state, national, and international levels.

We focus on these issues:

  • Climate Justice
  • Decriminalization
  • Democracy and Electoral Justice
  • LGBTQIA+ and Gender Justice
  • Economic Justice
  • Immigrant Justice

In addition, we support these organizations:

Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC)

UUSC powers human rights work through grassroots collaboration as a nonsectarian organization. We work anywhere that natural disasters, armed conflicts, genocide, forced migration, and systematic injustice threaten human rights.

Many of our Members and Friends join the UUSC and to give to the special relief efforts, such as food and medicine for Haiti.

Unitarian Universalist United Nations Office (UU-UNO)

This is our voice at the United Nations. The UU-UNO uses Unitarian Universalist values to advocate for human rights at the United Nations. It has a long history of providing strong leadership in all aspects of human rights at a policy level through its United Nations consultative status.

In addition, the UU-UNO:

  • Helped to draft the Universal Declaration of Human Rights,
  • Led the faith caucus, which established the International Criminal Court, and
  • Worked to overcome UN apathy about sexual orientation and gender identity issues.

The UU-UNO regularly reports to us on its activities.
