When circumstances feel heavy or beyond our control, it can be difficult to remember our own agency and capacity for care. In this service, we reflect on resilience as a shared spiritual practice and how community, compassion, and faith help us respond with intention, even in challenging times.
The Tombaugh Gallery of Las Cruces is pleased to announce a one-person show of the art of Or-Dima. Representing nearly fifty years of production and two distinct series, this art is expansive.
In the earlier works, exquisitely drawn nudes emerge from thin golden-brown washes and engage with each other, with mythic and mythological characters, and with the viewer. In recent, larger works, deeply textured earthen and nearly translucent pale washes flow over and around flat-black underlays; the sense of movement is incredible.
The overt sexuality in some works, and the pure abstraction of others, involve our thoughts as well as our vision; these are works of art to buy for repeated viewings. Achieving those keystones of fine art is among the reasons Or-Dima was selected for inclusion in the Tombaugh Gallery’s Masters of Their Art series.
Located at 2000 South Solano Drive in Las Cruces, the Gallery is open10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Fridays and Saturdays, 11:30am AM to 2:00 PM Sundays, and 5:00 to 7:00 PM on the first Friday of each month.
Or-Dima: The Joy of Liberation will open with a reception and artists’ presentation at 5:00 PM on January 2, 2026, and will run through February 22.
