Information About Our Caring Committee
A group of church volunteers provide support and care to members and friends during times of need. They offer practical assistance, emotional support, and a sense of community, complementing the pastoral care provided by the minister.
What We Do
- Practical Assistance: We can provide meals, transportation, errands, grocery shopping, trips to the doctor, and more.
- Emotional Support: We visit, make phone calls, send cards, and lend a listening ear to those who are ill, grieving, or experiencing life transitions.
- Pastoral Care: We work with the minister to identify and support individuals who may need additional care, including referrals for professional counseling or other services.
- Specific Needs: We may be able to offer limited childcare, respite care for caregivers, and even provide comfort shawls or other handmade items.
How it Works:
- Identifying Needs: We rely on members to share information about those who may need support with the Caring Committee. This includes when they need help themselves.
- Coordinating Services: We coordinate volunteers to deliver the necessary services, often working with a team or group leaders.
- Confidentiality: We maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of those who need our assistance. We will only divulge information when we are asked to do so.
- Community Building: Beyond providing practical assistance, the act of caring for one another strengthens the bonds of community within our church.
Our Caring Committee embodies our shared values of mutual care and support, ensuring that no one feels isolated or alone during challenging times.
