We invite church members and friends to watch and study these videos so you know what actions can save your life in an active shooter event on-campus. The FBI prepared the first video, while a Louisiana college prepared the second video.

If you want information about attacks in public spaces, Ready.gov has it on its website.

WARNING: Viewer discretion is advised. Both of the videos on this page contain disturbing images.

This FBI training video shows customers at a bar. While caught in an active shooter event, they employ run, hide, and fight tactics. Knowing basic first aid and tactics empowered them to survive the attack.

Run, Hide, Fight (Updated 2024)

The Louisiana Board of Regents sought expertise from a nationally recognized center for emergency preparedness and response in developing and producing an educational video based on the Run, Hide, Fight (RHF) paradigm for distribution to Louisiana’s public postsecondary institutions. As active threats are becoming frequent and may occur anywhere, students, faculty, and staff will be encouraged to apply the RHF principles in the event of an active threat on their respective campuses to better protect themselves and others. Active threats may include mass shooting incidents, attacks with various weapons, or acts of terrorism.

The Value of Active Shooter Drills

Schools, workplaces, and other locations conduct active shooter drills to prepare individuals for potential active shooter situations. These drills aim to teach people how to react, respond, and survive in such events, often focusing on “run, hide, fight” strategies. While designed to enhance safety, active shooter drills can also raise concerns about potential psychological trauma, especially for children.
