We actively promote justice, equality, and race in this church. Our efforts include anti-racism projects, support for marginalized communities, and advocacy for systemic change. We address issues within our congregations and in the wider world. We are always guided by our shared values and a commitment to “dismantling racism and other oppressions”. If you want to learn more about our activities, look at our Supporting Social Justice page.

These are some of our ongoing efforts:

  • Education: Providing resources and learning opportunities about social justice issues.
  • Service: Participating in direct service projects and partnering with organizations that address injustice.
  • Advocacy: Supporting and lobbying for policies that promote social justice.
  • Public Witness: Taking public stands and participating in actions that highlight social justice concerns.
  • Community Organizing: Working with communities to address systemic issues and advocate for change.

Historical Engagement

Unitarian Universalism has a long history of involvement in social justice movements: Abolition, women’s suffrage, civil rights, and the peace movement.  Persons interested in learning more should look at the Unitarian Universalist Association’s Justice and Inclusion page.
