2020 Auction

Important Update and Information:

These are such unpredictable times we are living in. The Corona Virus has changed all our lives in so many ways. The uncertainty of when we will be able to resume normal social gatherings and how the virus will affect each of us is another unknown factor. The decision has been made to postpone the auction until April 24, 2021.

This was not an easy decision to make as it affects so many of us. The planning committee has considered all the numerous factors that are involved in making the auction come to fruition. Several options have been researched and thoroughly thought through. Ultimately, all roads led to our decision.

Unfortunately, the postponement will be a burden on the church’s annual budget. I would like to reach out to everyone who was planning on spending money at the auction; to please consider donating to the church, which will help offset the loss of auction proceeds. Please check the NUUS in coming weeks to learn how to make a donation to the Non-Auction fundraiser.

The theme “An Evening At The Derby” will be kept for next year because there have been theme based purchases and plans already made and because it will be a lot of fun!

Thank you to all the beverage sponsors for your donations. The beverage sponsor money will remain in the auction account for next year’s auction beverage purchases.

Thank you to all the volunteers for your dedication. I will contact all volunteers at the beginning of next year to see if you could work the shift you signed up for this year.

Thank you for all the generous donations for events, services, goodies, and gift certificates. I will be reaching out to the gift certificate donors to check on expiration dates and help maintain the donations for next year. I will also be contacting the rest of the donors to see if the offers are still available for next year and adjust the dates accordingly.

Thank you for the preparation of the gift baskets from the committees and other groups. When it is safe to have social gatherings again, please finish collecting the items to complete your baskets and I will pick them up and store them in the temperature-controlled auction closet.

I have had many good experiences and have met and gotten to know so many wonderful people during the planning and preparation for the auction. I have also experienced some obstacles and stressful challenges, which have taught me many things. I look forward to chairing the 2021 Auction next year and working with all the fabulous subcommittees, volunteers and donors.

Thank you to everyone,

Kathy Willoughby, Auction Chair
