Many historians looking at the culture in which Jesus of Nazareth lived believe that he was not considered to have god-like qualities during his lifetime. In fact the first writings we have about his life date at least 50 years after his death. We’ll watch a 30 minute lecture by Prof. Bart Ehrman, author of “How Jesus Became God”, explaining the culture that created the stories leading to Jesus being seen as God. Discussion will follow.
