Virtual Event Via Zoom

Jose Artiga, Executive Director of the SHARE El Salvador Foundation, is a refugee from El Salvador — one of the first refugees to go into Sanctuary. He is also an environmentalist, a refugee advocate, and an internationally recognized community organizer. Jose will share a brief documentary about the Vamos a la Milpa movement in Honduras that addresses one of the root causes of migration by helping farmers to plant food crops and medicinal plants close to their homes following native Lenca tradition. He will then fill in the details. SHARE accompanies La Milpa with delegations to Honduras, advocacy, and financial support. In turn, La Milpa produces food to nourish the body and spirit to continue the struggle for justice respecting Mother Earth. Jan Thompson, a member of the church, was part of a delegation to Honduras in 2018 and will facilitate this Roundtable with her friend, Jose. Join us on Zoom.
