When the days grow colder and the nights grow longer, we light candles and recognize the sun will again warm us. At this time of year, we bring evergreens indoors to symbolize life, rebirth, and renewal. The holly leaves represent hope, and its red berries represent strength. We hang wreaths, a tradition symbolizing the wheel of the year and the completion of another cycle. Wreaths are often made of evergreens and adorned with cones and berries and hung as decoration throughout the home and sometimes given as gifts to symbolize the infinity of goodwill, friendship, and joyfulness.
