Welcome to our Sunday morning programs!

Our 2015-16 programs meet at 9:00AM and 10:30AM;

The 9:00AM session is Mindfull Sundays (experiences with meditation and and the practice of mindful actions adapted from the works of Tich Not Han).

10:30AM children move into their assigned Sunday school classes.

At 10:30AM, three Sundays a month we gather in the sanctuary for a shared time of communal worship.   The first Sunday of the month we gather in the Great Room of the Religious Education building for an age appropriate Children’s Chapel service.

Classes and themes for the 2015-2016 program year

Our Sunday morning program combines Unitarian Universalist identity, important life skills such as ethics and critical thinking, traditions from the major world religions and worship.  This is what we call faith development. We offer age appropriate sessions with both volunteer and professional staff.

We have two Sunday morning programs at 9:00AM and 10:30AM.  Our 9:00AM program incorporates a monthly theme and is open to ages PreK-Middle school.  Youth meet at 10:30AM. Child care staff is on duty from 8:45AM-1:15PM each week for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and young elementary aged children.

First Service Program

The 2015 First Service Program at 9:00AM uses a themed based approach. All sessions begin in the Religious Education Building. For more information on themed based progaramming visit http://www.uua.org/re/themes

This service is offered at 10:30AM the first Sunday of the month in the Religious education building.  Our themes for worship will be the same as those at the First Service Program.

The 2015-2016 program for 10:30AM

Welcome Home (for children ages 4-7 years)

We engage and challenge our leaders and children alike to explore how and why we are willing to welcome others into our lives. We welcome not only strangers, but family, our peers, our neighbors and even entities that are not people such as our animal friends and nature itself.  Each session contains stories, games, immersion activities and begins with a chalice lighting.

Spirit Of Adventure (for children ages 7-10 years)

Sports, medicine, music and Unitarian Universalists; we will explore as Villianur Stephansson, build with Frank Lloyd Wright, cook with Fannie Farmer and walk in the woods with Henry David Thoreau.

The Questing Year for Junior Youth (middle school ages)

  • Inner Quest: who are you? What do you believe? What is your place in the world?
  • UU Quest: what does it mean to be a UU?  How do we live out the promise of our faith?
  • Mystery Quest: how can you understand what you can’t see?
  • Action Quest: how can we be the change in the world we want.

Building Bridges for Senior Youth (high school ages)

Sharing the journey through a small group ministry process invites participants into conversation; and Building Bridges,  a world religions program, deepens our youth’s understanding of the dynamic, fascinating, and varied world in which they live. It seeks to broaden their knowledge of humanity and embolden their spiritual search.
