Long-range Planning: Charting Our Future

Dear Members and Friends,

The Long-range Planning Committee is pleased to submit to the congregation the Long-range Plan for the UUCLC (download it here).

As the cover letter says, we have been guided by the mission and vision of the church and by the results of previous church surveys, assessments, and goal-setting sessions. We have also been guided by input from program and committee leaders, the congregation and the minister, and our own brainstorms. Focusing on both spiritual and practical aspects of the life of the church, the plan charts a course that both stems from and furthers our mission - to live and spread the Unitarian Universalist ideals of religious freedom, personal religious responsibility, interdependence, and openness.

We hope the plan will be a useful tool in achieving the church's vision of a growing liberal faith community that challenges us in our search for spiritual fulfillment. We further hope that each of you will find in the plan specific goals and activities that resonate with you and to which you can commit your time, talent, and treasure.

The Oct. 8 service, which focuses on the future of our church, will be followed by a congregational meeting at which we'll discuss the plan and have time for your comments. At a later date, the church will vote to approve the plan. Then, together as a congregation, we will turn to the work of making the vision a reality.
