Hospitality Committee

Purpose: The Hospitality Committee is responsible for organized hospitality within the church, limited mostly to coffee service & refreshment time following the 9:00 a.m. & 10:30 a.m. Sunday services.

Organization: The Hospitality chair is nominated by the committee & elected by the congregation at the annual business meeting. The chair attends monthly Council meetings & if he/she is unable to attend, another member of the committee may attend as a representative. Any members or friends of the church who are interested are welcome to serve on the Hospitality Committee.

Duties and responsibilities:

  1. Organize the Sunday coffee hour & oversee things on a year-round basis. The committee is responsible for the sign-up calendar of coffee host volunteers. They make sure every Sunday is covered with volunteers/coffee hosts for both service times.
  2. Buy and stock coffee service supplies & related items through a donation fund organized for this purpose.
  3. Organize or coordinate food service for special events (Thanksgiving Dinner, receptions for incoming or outgoing ministers, if planned, a welcome-back potluck) at the church.
  4. Organize special off-site events such as circle suppers and annual winter holiday party.
  5. Have primary responsibility for the upkeep of the kitchen and allocation of related storage space.
  6. Attend monthly Hospitality Committee meetings where business items are discussed.

Co-Chairs: Bob Severance & Jean Gilbert
