ANTHEM
If there appears to be sufficient time, an anthem is often performed just prior to the sermon (although it can be played at another time in the service if it seems more appropriate). Catherine, the church choir or a guest musician will perform a musical selection. The selection may involve singing, chanting or drumming by the congregation. During the planning of the service, it's a good idea for the Service Associate to discuss all musical selections with Catherine (she usually has a very good idea of appropriate pieces for a given topic).
