Our UUniverse
Helping Your Leadership Serve You Better
One of our most sacred UU Principles involves the use of the democratic process. In order to know the wishes of our members and friends, we conduct meetings (lots of meetings) seeking input. We hold budget meetings, bylaw meetings, social action meetings. Our board and council meetings are open (get the hint – we really value your input or maybe we just really value meetings). Pretty soon, Paul and Hale will begin organizing more meetings as the phase II building discussions get underway (even more opportunities to share your opinion).
From time to time, we also conduct surveys such as the ministerial search survey conducted last year. This month we are looking for input regarding Sunday services (including Roundtable, Family Worship, our regular ‘worship’ services and perhaps some additional services). We have limited space, and growing demand for that space. So we need to determine how best to utilize the space and time that we have to best serve the needs of our congregants and our community. We’re doing this survey via Survey Monkey (for those of you who have internet access), just like we did for the ministerial search survey. If you haven’t received it already, you will soon receive an invitation to take the survey. Please take the opportunity. It’s short – only around six questions. However, the information we gain will help us take the pulse of the congregation regarding existing services, and help pave the way for additional
services if there is sufficient interest. For those without internet access, a copy of the survey will be mailed to you.
There are ample opportunities for comments, so feel free to make ample comments. We’ll make the results public, and the board, council and Sunday Service Committee will use the data to determine what, if anything, should be modified or added to our weekly services.
Peace,
Rich Richins, President
